What is Campus Dispatch?

Campus Dispatch emerged from concerns within the Portland State Community about increasing crackdowns on student, faculty, and staff rights to speak out about the genocide in Gaza and to be critical of the decisions made by the administration on our behalf. While official communications go out to the entire campus community, there are many stories that are not receiving the same level of dissemination: these include the uneven application of disciplinary measures and policing of speech across campus; the actions the administration takes behind closed doors that constrict public discussion of issues in meaningful ways; and the generally repressive climate that many are experiencing at Portland State right now. Campus Dispatch also boosts other journalism that disrupts the one-sided informational flow and shares events happening in and around campus related to education on Palestine and issues related to Palestinian solidarity.
